Description

The Tayana is a great live aboard / cruising sailboat, comfortable, safe, and able to withstand adverse weather conditions easily.

Cruising speed under sail is approximately 7 knots, but we have seen 9+ knots. We are the second owners and both owners have taken care to keep the boat in good condition. She has spent half of her years in Lake Superior and half in salt water, cruising.

The Tayana has an incredible amount of interior storage, with lots of lovely golden satin finished teak cabinets, shelves and drawers.

Below the cockpit is an enclosed compartment which houses the steering mechanism, AC refrigeration system, water heater, inverter, emergency tiller and plenty of additional storage space.

We have updated many of the systems and equipment in the 8 years we've owned it. The boat has never been chartered.

Cast off the shore lines and go!
by: Dick McClary

Also known as the Tayana Vancouver 42, these double-ended long distance cruising boats are the result of a collaboration between the legendary Taiwanese yard Ta Yang and the equally well-known designer Robert Harris.

They followed on the heels of the prolific Tayana 37 design by Bob Perry and was one of a series of "Vancouver" designs including 27 and 36 footers.

This one appears to have been well looked after and regularly updated.
