Mahi Mahi off the Dry Tortugas on the way to Key West

by Frank Calafiura
(Port Richey, Florida)

Trolling on the way to Key West we caught many Dolphin, Mahi Mahi and tuna.

Trolling off the stern of a Beneteau 45 with a stout Penn Rod and Penn reel. I was using 80 lb. test and was trolling some dolphin teasers that are great for any fish in that neck of the woods.

You need to set the drag very lightly so the fish can be landed. Much patience is required.

Here's a pic of me and my fish!
