Chanticleer's dimensions:

  • 44' long:
  • 13'6" beam;
  • 5' draft;
  • 56' mast height;
  • 38,000 lb displacement.

This center cockpit walkover model vessel is not a project CSY. It is a bluewater turn-key boat ready to go cruising.

Over the last 18years, besides cruising over 30,000 miles on Chanticleer, we re-engineered various mechanical systems, including a robust solar power system, repowered with a BETA Marine Kubota diesel, a recently remanufactured Borg Warner model 71 transmission, and 3 blade feathering maxprop.

CSY (or Caribbean Sailing Yacht Corporation) was located in Tampa Florida in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. The company was started as a 'Moorings type' boat charter company. The company could not find a boat building company that could build a boat capable of withstanding the rigors of bareboat charters.

We are the third owners of this boat and have no evidence that this boat was ever in the bareboat charter business. They started building their own boats. They spared no expense from having the hull design tank tested, to building a solid fiberglass hull (with 2" thick hull) and ½" solid deck, with everything else on the boat overbuilt. The end result was they built extremely sturdy bluewater boats.

Our overall vision was to restore Chanticleer keeping with the original overbuilt design, structure and appearance.
This is a cutter rigged vessel which can be sailed by one person – better with two yet big enough for a family with 6 berths scattered between 3 cabins. Amenities include a separate shower room in the front, a spacious easy to work in engine room, 350 gallons of fresh water tankage, 3 box 18 cubic ft chest refrigerator system with 2 DC air cooled refrigeration units, a genset, hardtop bimini enclosing a spacious cockpit.

Also included is a fiberglass nested dinghy with a 2015 6hp 4 cycle Tohatsu engine. Through the restoration we emphasized ease of maintenance, redundancy of various systems to insure a high level of safety along with creature comforts expected on a boat of this quality.

Rather than go into details of what Chanticleer offers, allow me to send you a copy of the most recent survey. Additionally we have prepared two PDF files that detail repair, restoration, and installation of every project done on the boat over that last 18 years. Commercial financing may be available.

Price includes all work and materials required to prep and paint bottom and underwater hardware to launch vessel and up to one week of indoctrination to properly maintain and safely operate Chanticleer and up to two weeks of American Sailing Association courses 103,104,105 and 106 conducted by us through Island Dreamer Sailing School on Chanticleer.
Asking Price: $150,000.
