In addition to ongoing upgrading and refurbishment, the
'Maid Jacqueline' has had two general overhauls, 1988/1989 in Istanbul and 2001/2003 in Marmaris. During the first general overhaul, in addition to extensive woodwork, the mast and boom, standing rigging, tanks, waterlines, electrics, chain plates and external fittings were also replaced and a hydraulic steering control was fitted. She is now one of the best examples to be found and an extremely smart and well found yacht, complete with everything required on a cruising yacht to sail away and explore the Greek Islands where she is presently based.
She is perfect for a solo or crewed Greek Island adventure and she is kept at a very inexpensive quiet safe marina on the Greek island of Samos. This makes a fantastic summer and winter base 5 minutes walk form the famous town of Pythagorio and in-view of Kusadasi Marina on the Turkish coast.
With all round visibility and comfortable seating, she has a superb wheel steered cockpit with brand new Bimimi sun shade and sail covers. The tall modern Alloy mast and Bermudian rig is easily handled by a solo Captain or small crew and the addition of modern winches and roller furling head sails make life very easy at sea and she sails beautifully.
There are so many features on this boat which make her the ideal cruising yacht for the Greek Islands.
Electric anchor winches forward and aft make stern or bow on moorings a breeze.
Recent cruising grounds in 2017/2018 include Patmos, Lipsi, Arki, Agathonisi, Fourni, Samos and the Turkish coast.
