'Otama Song' Partial Inventory/History:Professionally built 11.03 metre Round bilge ¾ keel(no rust) steel cutter.
'Otama Song' was launched 1989/90. She's a safe, comfortable passagemaker.
Built by ex-Falmouth shipwright John Tomson in Whangerei N Z for his own use. Originally gaff rigged, John changed her to a Bermuda cutter rig.
Both headsails are on self-furlers so after reefing the main, there is no need to go on deck to tend to headsails. With this setup it gives plenty of options with changing weather conditions.
Sails: A at present we have a yankee and staysail fitted. We also have a genoa, storm jib and trysail. Mast has twin Genoa poles, with a track for each. Lazy jacks. Mast steps. Battened Mainsail with three reefs. Trysail can be fitted to its own track, ready for use at any time.
Beautifully fitted out in New Zealand Rimu, with two chests of drawers and two full hanging wardrobes. Deck is two layers of glassed 9mm marine ply, with tongue-and-groove rimu lining & laminated beams inside.
The shower: The sole between the loo and the vanity opens up with normal shower base that has an inset stainless-steel bowl with a small pump. Fill the bowl with water and the water is delivered via a hand-held shower rose. To empty, hold rose over vanity or keep using.
