Pacific Seacraft Flicka 20 in excellent condition with trailer like new.

Sailboat bought in 2010 and stored since. The previous owner did a lot of renovations on the boat from 2007 to 2009 before I bought it. The sailboat was very well maintained.

The Flicka 20 is an American sailboat built by Pacific Seacraft. The sailboat was designed by Bruce Bingham as a cruiser.

John Vigor wrote in his book Twenty Small Sailboats To Take You Anywhere:

"Flickas built by Pacific Seacraft are rugged, solid craft, with top-quality cabinetry, finish, and detailing. There isn't another production boat of her size in the U.S. that rivals her interior space and ocean-going capabilities. She's small enough to handle easily, but big enough to live in comfortably."

Destiny's Fate, a Mauritius 43 Staysail Ketch for Sale

(Belize)

SORRY, NOW SOLD!

For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

Urgent sale needed on my 1995 Mauritius 43 steel hulled, center-cockpit staysail ketch. Destiny's Fate was given a complete refit 2019 with ultra-sound on the hull and a current survey, my 43 is currently anchored in Woburn Bay Grenada, near Clarks Court Marina, and is being maintained by Gary and crew from Horizon Yachts.

Her assessed market value at the time of survey was $85,000 but Destiny's Fate is currently listed at $68,000. My contract has expired so you can deal with me direct, my last adventure of life was to sail to all parts of the world, but nearing 70 years old due to an old back injury that has come back to haunt me, it is a bit of a gamble.

At this time no unreasonable offers refused. As times are changing, I would consider payments with a deposit and a slightly higher selling price.

Grenada now open to international traffic with a current negative PCR test.

'Kesh', a Wauquiez Gladiateur 33 for Sale

by Matthew
(Florida )

<i>'Kesh'</i>

'Kesh'

SALE TEMPORARILY ON HOLD

For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

My 1984 Wauquiez Gladiateur - 'Kesh' - is the sturdy little sister to the Wauquiez Pretorien. She's a very well-built offshore capable cruiser with new engine and sails. Her Volvo diesel and saildrive have less than 200 hours since installation. Other features include Raymarine radar, chartplotter, Icom 504 with AIS, tiller pilot, Stackpack, dodger, bimini, cockpit cushions, spinnaker and spinnaker pole.

These boats have solid glass hulls with all bulkheads tabbed to the hull. This particular version is one of the better ones out there. 'Kesh' is currently located in Indiantown Florida waiting for a new owner. I’m selling because my job has me traveling and I don’t have time to enjoy the boat - sadly, I’ve only managed to get out once in the last year, so feel it’s time to let a new owner enjoy this boat. Write with any questions.

SORRY, NOW SOLD!

For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

The Caliber 47 LRC (Long Range Cruiser) was designed by Michael McCreary and built in the USA by Caliber Yachts.

Endorfin II is hull number 11 out of 25 manufactured. After the purchase in 2011 by the present owners, she was transported to the Caliber Yachts plant in Clearwater, Florida for a refit. Since she was the first vessel to ever return to the plant, she was thoroughly inspected by her builder. Caliber Yachts' own craftsmen and the present owner refitted updates.

Following two years in Fort Lauderdale and Chesapeake Bay waters, she has been sailed in the Eastern Caribbean since 2013 and always kept in Grenada (West Indies) during the hurricane season.

She continues to be fastidiously maintained by her live-aboard owners. She is fully equipped to be self-sustaining. A true bluewater sailboat, Endorfin II is an ideal live-aboard cruiser and circumnavigator.

This vessel is turnkey - just pack your personal items and move aboard!

Endorfin II is currently located in Grenada, West Indies.

This Wauquiez Gladiateur 'Zeffiraglia III' has had maniacal maintenance and improvement from her owner in the last 20 years.

Zeffiraglia III' has been completely renewed for a trip to Azores and for the Atlantic traverse, she will need just normal maintenance for many years. May be the boat is just too much equipped!

In the last four years, the owner Giorgio Daidola invested on her more than €25,000 euros for improvement and special maintenance, as documents and invoices can demonstrate.

After the crossing from Cape Verde islands to Grenadines in January 2020, Zeffiraglia III' has been hauled in Trinidad, Peake Boatyard. A special cover protects her from sun and rain. Fabio Branca, a professional skipper living in Trinidad, is entrusted to take care of her.

Skye 51 Ketch

SORRY, NOW SOLD!

For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

The Skye 51 'Yemaya' is a world voyaging yacht that has completed two circumnavigations. She has been continuously upgraded over the past 7 years to include: electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, stove, navigation, 2 autopilots, led lights, engine rebuild, water maker, roller furling, stainless work, canvas, solar, and removal of the teak deck.

The Skye 51 was commissioned by the John G. Alden Company, designed by the naval architects Kaufman & Ladd of Annapolis and built by Mao Ta Shipyard in Taiwan. Eighteen Skye 51’s were built under the direct supervision of Alden and are highly sought after by world cruisers.

The design was for a “blue water performance cruising yacht” easily handled by a couple and intended for world voyaging. As such, the Skye 51 has been designed, engineered, and built to quality standards comparable with the finest yachts in the world. Few performance cruising designs built today have the exceptional strength, and classic styling that the Skye 51 offers. 'Yemaya' has a spacious sleek open deck, large safe cockpit and wide side decks that make for comfortable and safe cruising.

She is well equipped to continue cruising the world off the grid in style, safety and comfort. Currently docked (June 2021) at Shelter Bay Marina, Panama with all systems maintained. Outside the hurricane belt and within easy reach of the excellent cruising grounds of Bocas del Toro, San Blas Islands, Isla Escudo de Veraguas, Zapatillas etc.

The interior arrangement provides 2 separate en-suite cabins – one aft cabin with a double berth, private shower and head, and one forward cabin with a single bunk over a double berth, also with full head.

The spacious saloon provides 2 secure pilot berths, a U-shaped settee and large dining table. Just aft of the Saloon are the updated galley and navigation station.
Aft of the Master Cabin lies a large walk-in engine room with the renowned 82hp Perkins 4.236 Marine Diesel.
The V-berth/forepeak is easily accessed internally or through a large deck hatch and currently serves as a store for dive tanks (4), dive compressor, 2 fold-up bikes, laundry spin dryer etc.

Her staysail ketch rig allows a variety of sail combinations to suit the conditions. Current owner sails her easily solo or as a couple.

Recent upgrades 2015-2020 (over $100,000) including autopilots, refrigeration, watermaker, standing rigging, ground tackle, safety equipment, dinghy & outboard, battery banks, electronics etc.

'Mialee', a Westsail 42, is for sale.
'Mialee' is the former 'Wyntje' owned by the former newsman Walter Cronkite. He had the boat custom-built and it shows throughout. Recently, the boat has been completely restored with new Awlgrip, renewed deck coatings, varnish and interior painting.

The equipment is very good and updated. New tanks with 300 gallons of water, engine replaced with 75 hp Yanmar, engine room re-engineered, new bomar hatches, chainplates, rigging, sails.

The boat has a very hefty autopilot, proven by the previous owner solo sailor who voyaged from Florida to Newfoundland and on to Portugal, Argentina and the Caribbean. Perhaps the best testament of the Westsaol 42's ability was proven by 85 year old Eric Forsythe who logged 250,000 miles in his boat boat 'Fiona' including the Northwest Passage and Cape Horn.

Recently, 'Mialee's mast tube - now schedule 80 pipe - was replaced together with the mast step.

'Mialee' has a new bottom painting, and new batteries will be included in the sale. The present owner is a licenced Captain for over 40 years and is available for delivery if need be.

The equipment updates also include new holding tank, a Force Ten Stove, Waeco fridge freezer, LED lights throughout, Revere Offshore 6 man life raft, some new self-tailing winches and a new anchor windlass.

A walk through of the boat, starting aft:
  • Large aft cabin with double or fore and aft sleeping.

  • The engine room entry (a real room!) is thru a door in the aft cabin with a small work bench.

  • Going forward in the passageway is the nav table with a fold out seat, followed by the galley/ dining area with wonderful big bronze opening ports for eye level views.

  • Then, the main salon with fore and aft seats and potential for upper berths....after, a full width head followed by double/or storage in forecastle. Storage space is huge in this boat.

Comments:
We have had SEA OTTER TOO since 2001. She has brought us lots of enjoyment as we have taken her primarily around San Diego Bay and local coastal waters. She is comfortable and easy to maneuver.

Mobility issues have kept us from spending more on her the last several years. We are looking to find her new owner who will take her out, enjoy her and provide the TLC that she deserves.

Great Starter Yacht. Easy to sail. Full keel gives great stability. Does well in weather. Needs some cosmetic work. Can sail today.

Sailboat-Cruising.com asks: Need some guidance with all aspects of buying a secondhand boat? If so, click here...

The designer Uwe Bartels envisioned the Delta 36 as a race boat, and it is fast, but it is also a secure and comfortable liveaboard with classic lines. The boat meets the IOR and KR racing standards.

The center of mass of the boat is very deep, because all heavy parts (water tanks, engine, batteries) are under the water line. Together with the smooth hull design, this gives the boat good handling in conditions ranging from light winds to storm winds with heavy waves. The boat cuts elegantly through the waves and doesn't pound heavily.

With the small hull profile and long overhang, the form recalls designs by Sparkman & Stephens. The hull is built with a mid-length keel, which gives it a good balance of stability and maneuverability.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

General Description

Builder: Delta Gesellschaft für Kunststoffverarbeitung m.b.H. Hamburg
Designer: Uwe Barthels
Year: 1971
Hull number: 4

Length overall: 10,94 m ≈ 36 ft
Length waterline: 8,06 m ≈ 27 ft
Beam: 3 m ≈ 10 ft
Draft: 1,80 m ≈ 6 ft

Displacement: 5,8 t ≈ 13.000 lb
Ballast: 2,8 t ≈ 6.000 lb (cast iron)

IOR Certificate: 24,43 (1984)
KR Certificate: 6,93 KR

Largest sail area: 65 m² ≈ 700 sq ft

Engine: Volvo MD2B, 25 PS/HP with Martec dual-water cooling,
completely overhauled 2007 and partial refit 2018

Water capacity: 2 x 85 Liter ≈ 22 gal (170 Liter ≈ 45 gal) + Water maker (needs repair)
Diesel capacity: 140 Liter ≈ 37 gal + 40 Liter ≈ 10 gal in Jerry cans
Kerosene: 50 Liter ≈ 13 gal in jerry cans

Construction:

The hull and deck in GRP to German Lloyd specifications (Certificate available), very sturdily built. The hull is still in excellent condition. Even sailing close to the wind, there‘s no creaking in the interior. All fittings are glassed into the hull with at least 5-10 cm ≈ 2-4” of overlap. The hull itself is as thick as 2 cm ≈ 0,78”in some places.

The running board is made of thick, strong teak, up to 10 cm ≈ 4” high. The cockpit has teak benches and grating.

The water tanks – GRP 2 x 85 Liter ≈ 22 gal – are under the salon benches. The GRP Diesel tank (140 Liter ≈ 37 gal) is hull-integral, located under the steps of the companionway.

The interior is of highest quality and in good condition. The construction is all professionally done. The interior is a mix of plywood with mahogany veneer (doors and walls) and 1-2 cm ≈ 0,39-0,78” thick solid mahogany (cabinet facades etc.).
The floorboards are made from sturdy plywood with thick teak veneers.

A custom-cut carpet completely covers the floor and makes for a homely feel.

Aft, the floorplan is dividied into a small bunk (actually a storage area for engine parts and a Waeco drop fridge) and card table port-side and WC to starboard.

In the living room/salon there is a pantry to starboard and closet to port. The large table has space to seat 4-6 people. The upholstered backrests can be lifted to make space for one person to sleep on each side, 2m x 0.5m ≈ 6,5 x 1,64 ft each. Under those bunks are the batteries, forward, and the water tanks aft. This arrangement keeps the sloshing of half-empty water tanks from disturbing sleepers. Standing height in the boat is 1.9m ≈ 6,23 ft.

The double bed in the bow is separated from the rest of the boat with folding double doors. The cabin has many separate and secure drawers and cubbies.

Windara is a beautiful bluewater full-keel 1983 Bayfield 40 (45 feet overall). Built in Clinton, Ontario Canada, the staysail-ketch rig provides numerous sail options for any weather.

Like many boats in the 1980s, she was overbuilt and is definitely a solid and safe boat, but she also looks beautiful under sail, or on the hook! She is a very airy boat with 10 opening ports; 4 opening hatches and a beautiful butterfly hatch atop the salon.

Current owner purchased her in Tortola BVI in 2008 and kept at Havre DeGrace MD. In 2012, she transited the North Atlantic exceptionally well to England overcoming winds in excess of 52mph off Ireland. In 2013, her return was through the the trade winds of the southern atlantic.

Windara includes the typical Bayfield 40 accessories with a Westerbeke engine with a few extras to include a wind generator, solar panel, davits, boson’s chair, life jackets, galley supplies, anchors (Plow and Danforth) and a variety of engine parts.

'Sea Note', an Endeavor 43 Sailboat for Sale

by Ray
(Puerto Penasco, Mexico)

'Sea Note', our 1980 Endeavour 43 Sailboat is for sale.

As we were preparing for our next adventure to Australia, I was involved in a serious accident that has put a sudden stop to our cruising life. So sadly we have to give up our cruising lifestyle along with our Endeavour 43 'Sea Note'. 'Sea Note' is a proven blue water sailor. In the last 11 year's she has taken us to 16 different countries in the Pacific. She has sailed through 50 knot winds and 12-foot waves on our way to Tonga. She saved us in hurricane Odel in Mexico with no damage. We've had so many adventures with her and explored the Pacific in comfort and confidence in her.

Robert Johnson designed this the Endeavour 43 in the late '70's for cruising in the Caribbean. She is a staysail ketch (a ketch with a cutter rig) carrying just over 1,000 square feet of sail when flying headsail, staysail, main and mizzen.

Specification:
Hull Type: Long Fin with Skeg-Hung Rudder

We have owned her for more than 10 years, and have lived on her during that time. We have sailed from San Diego to Hawaii, on to Canada, and the Pacific Northwest, to Mexico the South Pacific, New Zealand, with a very interesting return to Mexico where she is now located.

During that time she has been constantly maintained and upgraded. The list is long so please bear with me...
  • New paint for the entire boat 2013;

  • New Standard Horizon VHF radio with remote mic at helm;

  • Installed 420 Watts of solar panels;

  • New RayMarine chart plotter with digital radar 2014;

  • New Achilles 10-foot dinghy, and Honda 9.9hp 2014;

  • Stainless safety rail from bow to stern 2014;

  • New standing rigging 2015;

  • New Yankee cut 135% head sail 2015;

  • Spare jib is a 155% 2015);

  • Installed new Maxwell windless 2015;

  • New cockpit enclosure 2016;

  • Replaced 300 feet of 3/8" chain 2016;

  • Icom 802 SSB radio system replaced 2018;

  • New StackPack sail bag and lazy jack for main, and mizzen 2018;

  • Galley refit in 2019 including new counter top, microwave, and Dickerson propane 3-burner stove with temperature-controlled oven;

  • Replaced refrigeration system for fridge 2019;

  • Recharged cold plate in freezer 2019;

  • New bottom paint in October 2019;

  • This year we replaced fresh water lines, and both waste water systems in fore and aft heads, including new pumps, tanks, and hoses;

  • New zippers for the cockpit enclosure;

  • New Sea Pro watermaker with all new lines, and electrical;

  • The two fuel tanks have a capacity of 720 litres (180 gallons, full).

'Sea Note' is a comfortable live-aboard cruising boat boasting over 6 and a half feet of headroom throughout.

She is a two-stateroom vessel. Forward there is a double Pullman berth, hanging locker, with four drawers, and a head. The aft cabin features a full double bed athwartship with large storage areas at both ends, a head, and separate shower stall, a vanity, and large hanging locker, again with four additional drawers.

She has amazing access to her engine room which contains a Yanmar 4JH3B with a turbo that produces approximately 72hp, a Northern Lights 6kW generator, and a 6-gallon electric hot water tank.

In the companionway that runs next to the engine room there is a combination washer/dryer, a 16,000 and a 12,000 btu heater/air conditioning system, along with a very large storage area for spare parts, service manuals, and tools.

The main salon has a side board to port, two barrel chairs, and a coffee table between. To starboard we have an L-shaped settee bordering a dining table with two fold-down leaves that comfortably seats six people. Both below and behind the settee, there are several large storage areas.

Next to the settee is the navigation station were the radios and assorted electronics live.

The galley has a large pantry, top access fridge, and separate freezer, microwave, a 3-burner gimballed stove and oven, with a double sink.

In the cockpit ten people can comfortably enjoy sundowners. Easy access to five self-tailing winches, and the main sheet traveller where even the smallest of crew has little problem in handling this boat. The helm has all the controls for VHF radio and electronics, autopilot and the drive engine. The cockpit is fitted with cushions and pillows throughout. When the weather turns wet or cold the full enclosures assures a warm and dry watch. Simple access to a wide deck surrounded by a stainless-steel railing promotes security.

A serious injury away from the vessel earlier this year dictates that the present owners cannot safely sail the boat any longer. Although they could continue to live aboard in comfort, they believe strongly that boats were meant travel, and would like to see 'Sea Note' continue her adventure.

'Amigo', A Much Improved Contessa 26 Cutter/Sloop

SORRY, NOW SOLD!

The listing remains here for the benefit of anyone researching this make/model of sailboat.

For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

The hull and bulkheads have been substantially reinforced, the entire bow area has been reworked to accommodate a stout double roller anchor fitting, attachment for an inner forestay, a Sampson post, heavy bow eye, and reinforcement to withstand a major head-on collision.

Contessa 26 interior

The original 2 pintle and gudgin sets have been doubled to 4 and the alignment is so good you can move the rudder easily with one finger. The lower rudder pintle is protected by an overlapping extension of the keel and the rudder shape has been rounded up to make entanglements with rudder, or rudder damage from grounding, impossible.

The fiberglass thickness on the bottom of the keel has been increased by 1/2” and the entire stem and most of the keel is covered by brass.

The wooden rub rail has been replaced by ½” of solid FRP and covered with ¾” half oval SS moulding. The wooden cabin top grab rails have been replaced by aluminum ones and an additional center grab rail has been installed – very useful and much safer.

Contessa 26 interior

A 2 part mast pulpit has been installed, again very useful and much safer. New, stout bow and stern rails, well engineered trim tab/windvane self-steering, new life lines, all new standing rigging on movable inner forestay, 2 running backs and back stay. All other standing rigging has low use and exposure hours.

All running rigging is new except main sheet. Rudder head has been reinforced, 2 storage boxes/steps built in to cockpit area, all new 'bin boards' (1st class, stout, awlgripped) with 2nd set of spares, for companionway.

2 new manual bilge pumps and 1 automatic plumbed in (she does not leak a drop). Scupper drains increased to 1.5 inch with new thru hulls and hoses.

Recently rewired with LED tricolor mast head running/anchor light, LED interior lights, spotlight, phone and equipment charger outlet, depth gauge, VHF radio, GPS, and AM/FM CD player/radio, two 44 watt turn/tilt solar panels and smart charge controller.

Large fold up chart table with bench for heeling. New roachless, triple reef main, new storm sail for inner forestay, 4 headsails in good to great condition, all hank on. 1 spare main with battens in good condition. One yulo sculling oar with mounting socket and oar lock, one 2 piece aluminum 'shove stick' to push bow around in case of grounding to sail off, one oversized whisker pole, one inflatable kayak, lifejackets, throw ring, fenders, foldup bicycle, small cook stove, one 5 hp, LP gas fired, long shaft (25”) Tohatsu saildrive outboard motor for propulsion with lift rig and track to raise and lower, 2 small LP bottles. 3 anchors, 100 ft of BBB chain, 300’ of ½” anchor line, 100 ft of 7/16” and 100 ft of 3/8”, new manual anchor windless for rope and chain.

Boat was in my shop for 3 years and completely repaired, primed and painted with alwgrip and still looks like new. When not in use she spends most of her time in my shop. This is a one of a kind boat, tough, safe, well thought out and has all the features of a serious cruising boat for one person or 2 'lovers'. I have many videos available of her in action, especially the self steering rig. I have bumped bottom many times, twice very seriously, and always got her off, unharmed, totally on my own. These boats can be found much cheaper, but none come close to the thoughtful, thorough, durable rebuild of this one.

Sailboat-Cruising.com asks: Need some guidance with all aspects (including those mysterious but all-revealing Design Ratios) of buying a secondhand boat? If so, you may want to take a look at our Boat Buyer's Bundle...

Only 16 of these world voyagers were built by Cruising Consultants before Pacific Seacraft bought the rights to the design. This is Hull #2, built under the direction of William “Gentleman Bill” Crealock himself. It was used as his showboat on the touring circuit and is a custom one-off design. There is no other Crealock or Pacific Seacraft like it in existence.

'Sea Bunny', a 1985 Hallberg Rassy 42 for sale

'Sea Bunny' at anchor, September 2019

SORRY, NOW SOLD!

For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

'Sea Bunny' is the original (Rassy/Enderlein), sloop rigged, version of the popular GRP long-distance cruising HR42 marque and has successfully completed two circumnavigations. The second of these, with us, was mostly two-handed and covered over 60,000 nautical miles.

She is for sale with much regret as we now feel that we have reached a stage in our lives when long-distance cruising is behind us. 'Sea Bunny' is well equipped for ocean cruising but is equally at home in local waters.

She is well equipped for cruising with solar cells, 2 wind generators, sprayhood, bimini and cockpit closure, watermaker, Raymarine chartplotter, radar and fishfinder, HF/MF marine band radio, heating, large domestic battery bank, 2kVA inverter, even air conditioning for those maintenance or R&R stops in tropical marinas!

GRP moulded hull and deck with encapsulated iron ballast in long fin keel, rudder supported by 3/4 depth skeg. Sacrificial shoe fitted to lower part of keel and wire from keel to skeg. Teak covering on deck replaced 2009 (Thailand). Topsides repainted 2016/17 in Trinidad (except blue stripe - 2012 in Thailand). Coppercoat antifoul system applied 2012 (Thailand), touched up 2017 (Trinidad).

Extensive refits undertaken in 1997 (by previous owner), 2001 (UK), 2009 and 2012 (Thailand) and Trinidad 2016/7.

Rig: Forestay replaced 2014, remainder of standing rig replaced 2016

'Sea Bunny' is currently berthed in Plymouth, UK.

'Windancer', a Classic Sailmaster 26

SORRY, NOW SOLD!

This old girl has served me well for the past 30+ years, primarily on the Hudson River, Tarrytown, NY.

Unfortunately, declining health forces me to sell this classic headturner to a new owner who will enjoy and care for her.

'Windancer' is a well maintained fiberglass Masthead Sloop with a wooden boom, varnished hatches & mahogany trim.

Solidly built in Holland by Werf Gusto, and Designed by William Tripp Jr.

1963 was the first year built.
LOA 26';
LWL 19';
Beam 7.75';
Shoal Keel/Centerboard;
Draft 2.2'/6'.

She displaces 4000 lb, & bears hull #105 out of 120 that were built up until 1969.

Although initially set up for an outboard, the original owner installed a 1964 gas 22 HP Palmer International, which I had rebuilt. It is very easy to work on, and runs like a top.

The installed stainless steel gas tank probably holds over 25 gallons, but I never filled it.

During the time I've owned her I have replaced the centerboard & spreaders, and installed:
  • Treadmaster on the decks;
  • a Depthfinder;
  • Compass;
  • Navico Autohelm;
  • Lazyjacks;
  • Solar Battery Charger;
  • 3 position battery switch;
  • running rigging;
  • AM/FM radio;
  • 4 speakers;
  • fixed & portable VHF Radios;
  • kerosene stove;
  • Boom vang/preventer;
  • drain plug;
  • 12V Cabin Fan.

I've also painted the topsides with Interlux Perfection, upgraded the Main, Jib & installed a spinnaker sock;

The Genoa, Spinnaker & Rigging are all in Good Condition & included.

She has 4 berths, a Tiller, Icebox, Stove, Sink, 22 gallon Fresh Water Tank, Head & Holding Tank, Dual 12V Batteries, Shore Power, Ground Tackle, Manuals, spare parts, LifeSling, several lifevests, including one auto-inflate with harness, & all safety equipment.

A very solid & forgiving boat, & with TLC, will last another 30 years.

Excellent for single handing, and/or beginner.

Bottom painted, in the water, and ready to go.

Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

'Pax Vobiscum' is a Fast Passage 39 built in 1979 at the Philbrook’s Boatyard in Sidney, B.C. by Canadian craftsmen. 'Pax Vobiscum' means "Peace be with You". 'Samsara', a Carena 40 Staysail Ketch for sale

SORRY, NOW SOLD!

For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

'Samsara', a Carena 40 steel ketch cruising yacht is for sale. Fully equipped for blue water cruising, sailing yacht 'Samsara', a Carena 40 steel ketch (11.90m × 3.90m × 1.85m) is for sale.

I've just hauled her out for annual maintenance purposes, to paint new antifouling, install new zinc anodes and a new depth-sounder.
NOW SHE IS READY TO GO CRUISING AGAIN!

Besides her age of almost 40 years, she proved to have a hull in perfect condition, with no need to touch in the near future!
Most of the hull still has original paints and protective layers, covering GALVANIZED, marine grade steel!

She is sound and built very strong in the famous German shipyard Gerdes, with loads of shiny stainless steel, all around.

Some of extra features that needs highlighting:
  • stainless steel rail all around the yacht, very safe and good looking;
  • stainless steel boom for main sail, massive piece of rigging, build to sustain the worst weather conditions;
  • lazarette, large storage locker accessible from aft deck and finished with stainless steel plates;
  • mast steps;
  • well oversized, very reliable, durable and economic engine, in great condition - 85 horse power Perkins 4.236 with new hydraulic transmission ZF63;
  • great stability during sailing and ability to stay on course by herself for extended periods;
  • oversized anchor and new chain;
  • windlass operable also from the cockpit, very helpful when you're cruising single-handed;
  • general layout set for single-handed;
  • White, S-shaped steel hull with blue striping, steel deck and superstructure;
  • Long keel, center-cockpit ketch, designed by H Lemstra in Amsterdam, built in 1983 by Gerdes Yachtwerft, Germany.

Fast, safe and comfortable, the Carena 40 is categorized as an Ocean Racer/Cruiser. In fact, she is perfect passage-maker and live aboard. Last year I sailed her across, from Panama to Spain.

Watch:- Short video footage of Atlantic crossing from Panama to Azores

I am the third owner (6 years now), know the history of the boat and have all the papers, including shipyard certificates and first registration.

The boat was hauled out first time by me in 2017 for total restoration. She got all new paints (including the masts).
I dropped the rudder and made new bushings out or brass as there was a little play, after 35 years. Also, I pulled out the propeller and shaft to replace all brass bushings and oil seals in the system. She got new transmission and flexible coupling.
Next haul out for bottom paint job was in 2018 and most recent in October 2020.
Each time I survey the hull with ultrasonic gauge and it is in a perfect shape!!!
In 2019, before Atlantic crossing she got many upgrades, including back up Power System, new hardtop with rain collector and extra sails, to name a few.

'Samsara' is a strongly built long-keel staysail ketch and comes with full wardrobe of 14 sails. Rigging was professionally surveyed in 2019 and is approved for ocean passages.

There is a lot of storage space, functional and ergonomic galley, large bathroom with shower. The saloon headroom is 2.15m and sofas are 2.4m long!
Water capacity approx: 400 liter, (4x100) + 100 l in jerry jugs.
Diesel capacity approx: 400 liter (20 liter day tank) + 100 l in jerry jugs.

The custom-made Crealock 37s are valued between about $50K - $90K, but I'm selling 'Sophia' at a much reduced price since she needs some minor cosmetic repair work (finish and trim work etc) and I have no time to do the work myself nor do I have time to use the boat.

Will consider trade for a home, property, or land of equal value.

Serious inquiries only.

'Esther', a Swan 36 for Sale

by Monica Campbell
(Charleston, SC, USA)

'Esther', an S&S Swan 36, Hull #11, Built in 1968.

Our beautiful 'Esther' is one of a kind, a precious jewel in every extend of the word. She is a classic beauty with all the modern equipment , comfort and up to date for being a 1968 yacht.

'Esther' is the 11th boat built by Nautors Swan when the company started in the late 1960s.
Swan is one of the best built boat brand of all time. Nautor Swan paired with the designers Sparkman and Stephens for this sleek 36 footer which became one of the best sailboats ever built and designed. She is a fast, strong, sturdy, reliable, prestige classic yacht like no other.

Her bottom paint was done in 2018 with first Interprotect 2000 epoxy barrier coat, second Interlux hard bottom paint and last a copper marine ablative anti fouling bottom paint.

We also painted the bilge with Interprotect. The bilge is over 5ft deep, a wonderful design. At the same time, we put a new cutlass bearing in and a new PSS dripless shaft.

For the Yanmar, we put in a new drive saver on the transmission, the engine has been completely gone through and replaced parts like motor mounts and parts that needed to be rebuilt like the injectors. The engine works great! A very reliable Yanmar 3GMD model, it has dry sleeves. It could last forever , really well built engine.

'About Time', a Sabre 32 Sailboat for Sale

(Tallahassee, Florida, USA)

<i>'About Time'</i> Racing in Apalachee Bay 2020

'About Time' Racing in Apalachee Bay 2020

SORRY, NOW SOLD!

For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

'About Time', a centreboard version of the Sabre 32, is the perfect combination of a racer-cruiser that can take you around to the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, and beyond. In fact, a previous owner completed the Great Loop in her.

She draws 3ft 8in when the centerboard is up to provide access to more areas. With the centerboard down, she draws 7ft for better performance when sailing. In addition to a new mainsail, 'About Time' has a roller furling jib and a spinnaker.

When needed, a 25-hp Beta Marine diesel engine, with approximately 800 hours is available.

Below deck you will find a level of detail and craftsmanship that is the signature of Sabre Yachts who creates quality yachts with classic lines, built in Maine. Louvered teak cabinet doors and a teak and holly sole create a warm and functional environment below.

We have really enjoyed exploring the northern Gulf of Mexico and participating in local races, but we are ready to purchase a larger boat for long-term, liveaboard bluewater cruising.

'About Time' is not a project boat, as she is in fantastic condition and ready for your family to enjoy! A survey from 2016 and additional photos are available upon request.

    'Harvest Moon', a 1988 Catalina C30 MKII for Sale

    (Port Chester, NY, USA)

    SORRY, NOW SOLD!

    For more boats like this one that are currently for sale please go to Cruising Sailboats for Sale...

    Year: 1988
    Catalina C30 Mark II
    Location: Port Chester, NY (US)

    'Harvest Moon' has been my pride & joy since 2008, when I found her in Oriental, North Carolina. Had her surveyed and all recommended upgrades and repairs were taken care of. Sailed/motored up the ICW to Newport, VA, and then offshore to New York harbor, up the East River, and into Long Island Sound.

    Over the past 12 years we have explored the Sound, and made numerous cruises to Block Island, Newport (Rhode Island), Cuttyhunk, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Provincetown, along with other destinations along the way.

    She is very comfortable on such long trips, and very solid when the weather gets nasty.

    The shoal keel lets me go where others can’t, enabling me to explore the Peconic Bays at the east end of Long Island, Ram Island on Sag Harbor, and many secluded inlets. I’m not much of a day sailor, preferring to go over the horizon for weeks at a time, and 'Harvest Moon' is the perfect boat for that.

    The V-berth sleeps two, the quarter berth can sleep two, but ideal for one. The cabin table can be converted to a very comfortable double bed, utilizing the various settee cushions.

    The interior is very cozy, thanks to a great extent to the generous amount of teak in evidence, much more so than in newer 'plastic' boat designs. One of my favorite pastimes when sitting out a rainy day is oiling the teak in the cabin.

    She’s not the fastest boat out there, but she is one of the most comfortable.

    She was especially commissioned to be exhibited at the European Boatshows in 1981/1982 - I still have the original brochure from the boatshow. 'Barbara Ann' was the first Mason 43 to be built with the companionway squared-off for safer entry. This meant that the standard square spray hood could be fitted, which was the only downfall of the earlier editions.

    Specification:
    Hull Type: Full keel
    Rigging Type: Ketch
    Length Overall: 43'10" (13.36m)
    Waterline Length: 31'3" (9.53m)
    Beam: 12'3" (3.73m)
    Draft: 6'3" (1.91m)
    Displacement: 25,000lb (11,340kg)
    Construction: GRP (Fibreglass)
    First Built: 1978
    Last Built: 1985
    Number Built: 180

    Design Ratios:
    Sail Area/Displacement: 14.5

    The Mason 43 made every top 30, 40 or 50 best yachts of all time in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000 and 2010. As this Mason 43 was built to show off and capture European interest, it was kitted out with all extras and the attention to detail to archieve the perfection that is visible throughout. She comes with 2 large history files of paperwork from construction 1980/81, transport to Europe 1981, first registration 11/3/1982, to present day.

    'Barbara Ann' has been family owned from new and updates are always ongoing - rigging, hatches, sails, electrical, electric toilet with holding tank, stanchions etc. The top of the range upgrade Volvo Penta MD21b 75hp is fitted and has been constantly pampered as we are lucky enough to have a Marine Mechanic in the family, so genuine parts are always available. There are only 1,948 hours on the engine. 'Barbara Ann' has twice sailed from Europe to the Caribbean and spent the rest of her life sheltered in marinas.

    'Barbara Ann' has large tanks, all stainless steel, for ocean sailing; 780 litre water and 400 litre diesel. She had a quality Vetus bowthruster fitted 7 years ago along with rigging, top of the range passarelle, granny bars at mast, boiler, new instruments, spray-hood, sails and 2 years ago engine starter, all pumps, new batteries, winter cover to change cockpit into a room, solar panels, electric toilet, upholstery and curtains, 6 man offshore life-raft. She has a diesel heating system. New fenders, lines, cooker/oven this year. Keel-stepped masts for ocean sailing. There is a large store of spares for everything including the engine.

    'Barbara Ann' was built for short-handed ocean sailing, so a couple can easily handle her. She has a ketch rig so does not have the oversized main (on a sloop version this would mean constant reefing) and this will also average just under a knot faster in trade winds than the sloop version with its 920 sq meters of sail.

    The attention to quality and detail you will not find on any other boat, solid teak and mahogany is used throughout the boat giving it that class of luxury and stainless steel fittings everywhere including the bulkheads structure.

    This version originally sold for $225,000 and $169,000 for the base version. When the name was changed to the Mason 44 it was because no profit had been made on 43's, so huge cost cutting on production was introduced. Articles over the years describe this 43 as 'bullet proof', 'indestructible', 'best short-handed ocean sailor', 'timeless', 'will hold its value', 'best family/couple yacht for comfort'.

    'Barbara Ann' has two double berth cabins so it always has the main cabin free and spacious. A great liveaboard with excellent comforts to make a desirable cruising yacht. The 28mm lead-filled keel was designed to be extra safe, even hit coral reefs without any major damage or the need to put on dry dock as the bolt-on keel boats all have too.

    The Mason 43 deserves all the praise and accolades it has received over the years and you will be very pleased if you purchase our yacht for the decades to come. Marina fees including water and electric on south of Spain till June 2021 (or credit of about €2,300 can be used at a later date if you wish).

    The average 43 currently sells for around €100,000 in the United States but we all know Covid 19 is here so we are willing to accept a major discount.

    'Lady Anne', a Beaty 31 for Sale

    'Lady Anne', a Sparkman & Stevens designed Beaty 31, located in Rio Dulce, Guatemala, Central America.

    SORRY, NOW SOLD!

    'Lady Anne' is the prettiest boat in Rio Dulce. The ideal boat for cruising the Cayes in Belize. shallow draft so she can go in and out of the Rio Dulce regardless of the tides and in and around the Cayes and lagoons in Belize, economical 3 cylinder diesel engine, solar panels so no noisy generators to keep the batteries charged, a fridge for the cold beers and a dream to sail.

    Built by the Beaty Bros in 1970, based on a Sparkman & Stephens design - the Hinkley 31 - dating back to 1935.

    A rare boat with beautiful, classic, lines. This is not a project boat, it is a finished project and ready to go, over US$9,000 invested in her in 2014, US$2,300 in November 2016 and another US$2,000 in 2018 plus US$1,800 in 2020 on new aft hatch, deck, main hatch and cabin top renovations

    Sleeps 2 persons in the V berth in the fore cabin, but 2 more bunks could be added in the main cabin if required probably costing about US$500 to do locally.

    A word of warning...
    This is a 1935 design so the boat is sleeker, lower in the water, much more compact and smaller inside than more modern boats so if you are very tall or very wide this is probably not the boat for you.

    Just add a dinghy and a GPS and you are ready to go!

    Currently can be seen at Bruno’s Marina in Rio Dulce, Guatemala.
