'Silhouette', a Mediterranean 37 Sailboat for Sale

This beautiful boat is reliable and solid blue water cruiser that has travelled from her home in South Africa to the Caribbean. Silhouette, a 37ft Mediterranean (Bruce Roberts design) monohull was built in Knysna, South Africa and offers a spacious layout with an abundance of natural light.

'Silhouette' under sail

Rig: Sloop cutter with Bellamy aluminium mast and boom. Aluminium spinnaker pole. Pro-furl roller-furler. Stainless steel standing rigging. Upper spreaders replaced May 2024, boom replaced 2015.

Sails: Stack pack main with lazy-jacks, 150% Genoa.

Winches: 2 x 46SD Anderson Genoa winches, 1 x 40SD Anderson Main Halyard, 1 x 12SD Anderson to reef main, 3 x Ballamy on the mast

Engine: Vetus 28hp fitted 2010 (1267 hours), 400L diesel storage, 3 x 168aH batteries, three-blade fixed prop

Steering: Pedestal wheel cable steering and emergency tiller

  • Fixed VHF and 1 Hand-held VHF, both Uniden
  • 1 x Raymarine 9E chart plotter, complete with echo-sounder

Plumbing: 900L water storage in 3 x GRP tanks, pressurised hot and cold fresh water, Hot water from gas geyser in lazarette, 3 x bilge pumps (2 x electric, 1 x manual). Black water tank.

Safety: Mantis 25kg anchor, 50m x 10mm chain, quick windlass, 6 x life jackets, 6 x harnesses, 1 x life ring and danbuoy.

There are even plastic fold up beach chairs for relaxing on the forepeak or heading to the beach, along with two ice (cooler) boxes.

The bad bits: Silhouette does need anti-fouling (There are 8 litres of anti-fouling paint on board, just needs to be applied) and the clear windows on the spray dodger need replacing.
