Tayana Flying Dutchman 50 Cutter

'Small World II', a Tayana Flying Dutchman 50 Cutter

Very well regarded in blue water cruising circles, she is both fast and strong. This yacht ticks all the boxes; aircon, genset, bow thruster, Max Prop, new integrated electronics, new electrical system, nearly new sails, integral keel, windvane, and top quality gear. Very heavily built with oversize fittings, she is well equipped and maintained, and ready to go cruising with nothing extra to buy, or install.

LOA: 50' 4";
LWL: 42';
Beam: 14';
Draft: 6'6";
Displacement: 36,500 lbs;
Ballast 15,500 lbs in an integral keel – no bolt on keel here!
250 USG of water;
185 USG of fuel.

All the cruising goodies are already installed and proven, with virtually all of her equipment in nearly new condition. She has been extensivly re-fitted for all oceans, extended cruising.
This is not your typical worn out cruising boat in need of a refit, but is rather an opportunity to buy a quality, ready to go boat at a reasonable cost.

Hull #1 and built 1977 by Tayana and marketed by Flying Dutchman Yachts as the FD-12. This particular vessel was laid up on land and under cover for twenty years before being re-commissioned by a famous sailing family in the mid 2000s. Since that time she has been consistently and significantly upgraded, improved, and outfitted for long range cruising.

This stunning yacht was semi custom built by the Tayana yard under the personal supervision of the designer, and was the boat-show boat for Flying Dutchman Yachts. Twenty three (or 25?) were built between 1977 and 1983 and the extra care and fabulous solid teak joinery work in evidence would be very expensive in today's market.

The original gelcoat on the hull still shines, and in every department she compares favorably with a vessel less than half her age.

Hi Jimmy,
It's the link to the seller's own advertisement. It's not a 'live' link - you need to copy and paste it.
