‘Live the Dash’, a fine example of a Morgan Out Island 37 Ketch, is a proven liveaboard cruising boat. She's moored at Christiansted Harbor, St Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She is meticulously maintained - everything works.

She’s a very comfortable cruising boat, with many opening ports for the Caribbean breeze.

She's a cutter-rigged ketch, also known as a staysail ketch – an extremely flexible sail plan.

Built 1977, designed by Charley Morgan himself, she's very solidly built (unlike so many newer boats).

Multiple surveys are available for inspection – 2022, 2017, 2013, 2000, 1998, 1993.

Up the masts…

Sail plan includes custom made, relatively new main and mizzen, two very serviceable roller furling jibs (working and 130), a hanked-on staysail, drifter, storm trysail, storm jib, and more.

On the deck…

Ground tackle includes 35 lb Delta with 200’ chain & rode, plus a bow-mounted Fortress FX-16 with chain & rode, and a spare Danforth in the lazarette (ready to deploy).

New custom made bowsprit using quality 316 stainless steel.

In the cockpit…

Instrumentation includes Garmin Chartplotter with in-hull transducer, additional DataMarine depth sounder with thru-hull transducer, Raymarine autopilot, and Icom marine radio with remote mic for the cockpit.

Recently replaced dodger, bimini, and connector. Custom made with quality Sunbrella and Isinglass windows.

In the engine room…

Reliable 50 hp Perkins 4-108 diesel in a clean engine room with sound proofing tiles.

Recently replaced heat exchanger and rebuilt wet exhaust system.

In the cabin…

Fully independent power based on rail-mounted solar panels and large battery bank, all monitored with a Xantrex LinkPro.

Includes a 3000W inverter.

Complete support for shore power too.

In the galley…

Super cold refrigeration (makes ice!) with a reliable Alder Barbour Coldmachine.

Force 10 propane stove with solenoid safety shutoff.

Hot and cold running water (both galley and head).

Recently replaced hot water heater (Kuuma).

Below the waterline…

New bottom paint and boot stripe.

All seacocks in excellent working condition and routinely checked.

Recently installed new propeller (NiBrAl 17LH16 1-1/4) plus a spare prop, new prop shaft, and all new zincs.

Onboard safety…

Equipment includes (4) fire extinguishers, plus an Amerex CO2 extinguisher (5 lbs) and fire access port for the engine room.

Also (2) automatic bilge pumps with high-water alarm, plus a Whale high-capacity manual bilge pump.

Offshore safety…

Equipment includes jack lines and (2) harnesses, (4) automatic life jackets, many sturdy life jackets, lots of flares, and a Lifesling.

Also, an offshore life raft (Viking RescYou Pro, 4-persons), a well-stocked ditch kit, and (2) ACR PLBs.

Dinghy and motor available separately – Good condition AB VS-10 dinghy and 9.8 Tohatsu 2-stroke outboard. Willing to negotiate a complete package price.

Mooring available separately - Mooring is a robust well-maintained mooring located in a great spot in Christiansted Harbor. Built with USA parts. Willing to negotiate a complete package price.
