Designed by Scott Sprague, the Hans Christian 48T is a heavy displacement, centre-cockpit cutter. Hans Christians are legendary in seaworthiness with excellent motion in all conditions, as well as outstanding performance under all points of sail.

On board, there are adequate spares for all the systems to support extended cruising. 'Liward' is a classic design and receives compliments in every anchorage!

'Liward' has many unique and special features that set her apart from other Hans Christians and improve her operation and safety. For example:

Custom davits, arch, and stern pulpit with hard rails to midship (316 SS electro-polished). These davits complement the lines of the boat and provide improved functionality and safety;

Custom built Bow Pulpit (316 grade stainless steel). Improving the strength and maintenance;

Custom built Mast Guards, Boom Crutch (316 grade stainless steel);

Basically, all exterior Stainless Steel, including major rigging components has been replaced. 'Liward’s Stainless Steel is second to none!

Custom built fiberglass, highly insulated separate refrigeration and freezer boxes;

Rebuilt, waterproofed, and retiled showers with modern porcelain tile and epoxy grout;

Complete rewiring throughout with custom electrical panel, all to ABYC standards. This means 'Liward’s electrical system is extremely reliable and maintenance free. Micarta burn-free material used throughout for all wire and fuse mounting;

Custom Navigation Station. Accommodating all essential instruments, enhancing the saloon aesthetics;

Two installed and completely redundant autopilots. Provides for long term cruising with a crew of two;

Custom built tank lids and fittings for access and maintenance;

New solar panels and controllers, D400 Eclectic Wind Generator, Victron Gel Batteries;

Export Transformer able to adapt to any shore power supply;

Fuel management and polishing system. Dirty fuel is never a problem;
